Home Instructions After Teeth Whitening
It is important to consider three things after whitening: how long you whiten your teeth; how frequently you whiten; and the extent of your external and internal stains. You begin your home whitening by brushing and flossing your teeth thoroughly. Place a dot of the gel in the middle of the surfaces of the tooth on the custom trays (skip the molars since they are not visible on your smile). Place the trays firmly in your mouth and whip off the excess gel, avoid using your tongue. If you experience sensitivity, stop the treatment for a couple of days. The syringes should be refrigerated (refrigerated shelf life is 2 years). Wash your trays with cold water. We recommend scheduling appointments if you do not acquire the desired shade. Your diet can affect the whitening process, so we recommend you avoid direct contact with the following foods:
- Coffee
- Tea
- Soy sauce
- Tobacco products
- Berries
- Carbonated drinks
- Red wine
